Hi, My Fitness Enthusiasts! Welcome to my Fitness blog and thanks to show interest about me.

My name is Kazi Chandrima Rahman, currently living in Sydney, Australia.

I have great passion about exercise, healthy living and fitness. I was a member of Gold’s Gym, Bashundhara, Dhaka for more than 10 years and lost about 26 kgs within a year and now maintaining my weight and shape. I am continuously acquiring knowledge about these topics. I have received “Excellent Fitness Award” from Gold’s Gym, Bashundhara in 2008. Besides these, I’m also interested in Sports. I was the Convener of Sports Club of my workplace–  University of Asia Pacific, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Badminton, Chess, Volleyball, Cricket, and Football are my favorite games. I have achieved several  Champion trophies in  Badminton from my University. After coming to Australia, I am practising home workout, including:: HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training), Kickboxing, Step Aerobics, Weight-lifting, Plyometrics, Zumba etc.

I am not only enthusiastic about doing exercise but also interested in proper diet and healthy lifestyle.

Exercises like Spinning, Aerobics, Kickboxing, Running, HIIT, Step Aerobics, Zumba, Circuit Training are my favourite exercises. Circuit and kickboxing improved my physique a lot!

I try to gather huge knowledge about exercise and diet and try to implement this knowledge in my life. I did not find any fitness blog or website in Bangladesh and so I have started this fitness blog especially for women. I will try to share my knowledge about exercises and diet with people and will try to make everyone aware of exercise and fitness.

I think lack of  knowledge of proper diet and exercise is killing people in the world as well as my country — Bangladesh. I’m astonished to see what an unhealthy life people are living. I have read and visited hundreds and hundreds of exercise, diet and fitness related websites. I have collected exercise related videos of world’s famous trainers like Jillian Michael, Cathe Friedrich, Shelly Dose, Jennis Saffel, Tracy Anderson, Kathy Smith, Denise Austin, Shaun T, Bryan Kest, Rodney Yee etc.

I’m also a fitness writer in Daily New Age, Daily Amar Desh, Sastha Bangla, Deho, Irish Bangla Barta, Youth Spark.

Fitness is passion and staple in my daily lifestyle. I do believe one must be fit enough to achieve success in every pace of one’s life.

I’m a university teacher by Profession.I have teaching experience for more than twelve years in various private universities in Bangladesh, lastly working as an Assistant Professor in Dept of CSE, University of Asia Pacific, Dhaka, Bangladesh. I also worked as a Software Developer in Grameen Solutions.

Currently, I am living in Australia and here I’m Resident as a university lecturer. I served as a Research Assistant, CSE, UNSW, Kensington Campus, Australia and also have some research experiences there.

I have received my B.Sc (Hons) and M.Sc in Computer Science from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. I have passed H.S.C and S.S.C from B.A.F. Shaheen College, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

I was also a Cadet of Bangladesh National Cadet Core (BNCC) of Bangladesh Air Force during my H.Sc. study period.

I wish this blog will help and encourage people to maintain a healthy life and I look forward to receiving your feedback and comments on this blog regularly.

  2. For the first time saw someone who properly knows about diets and exercises in BD. I have seen most of the dietations and instructors in many gyms in this country who lacks both in knowledge and technique and carry many misconceptions. I am myself a certified instructor from ACE, and Boxing Gold Medalist, California… Trust my experiance, this blog is great… To the blogr, GOOD JOB! 🙂

    • Thanks Tamzid. It’s my pleasure to provide some useful health tips by this blog. Arranging/buying tools for home workout is really great. There are a large number of Sports shops(like–Sports world, Shah Sports, Body and Sports etc in Dhaka). In Stadium market, there are a huge number of sports shops. Also, in various markets, you get sports shops. There u can get dumbbells etc. Price may be varied from shop to shop. But, don’t forget to do bargaining.It may be started from 1000tk.

  17. Wonderful to see your blog, Chandrima! Not only am I pleasantly surprized, I’m equally motivated to see that you workout at Gold’s Gym, Basundhara. My Dad has been pressing me to get enrolled in a gym – I guess this is what I needed to know!

    Please let me know how women-friendly it is at Gold’s Gym, whether there’s separate floor for the girls, and if there’s an instructor for the machines. I’ve gained a lot of weight while studying abroad – need to shed all these flabs now.

    • Thanks Humaira for your compliments. Yes, Gold’s gym is totally women-friendly and there is a separate floor for women. 10th floor is for the women and 9 th is for men. There is a good number of well-trained and experienced trainer to guide you shed your all extra pounds. You may also get all the facilities of an international gym there.

    I want to be connected with you personally. Because I’m going to be fatty day by day. I can’t control fooding, cause I have low pressure. Also I cant continue exercise. Do you have any gymnasium? Actually I need proper guidance to reduce my weight. Will you please help me?

    • Thanks for visiting my blog. To lose or control weight you must be habituated in Balanced diet. Remember moderate diet will not cause your pressure fall. I have no gym, but I’m a regular member of Gold’s gym, Bashundhara. Go to a dietitian and taka a diet chart to control your weight.

      • আমার পায়ে লিগামেন্ট ইনজুরি আছে।তাই পায়ে সমস্যা হলে অনেক গ্যাপ হয়।

        আমার আপার বডি ও লোয়ার বডি মোটামুটি ভাল কিন্তু বেলি নিয়া সমস্যা।বছর খানেক টানা গ্যাপ হওয়ার কারনে ৩১ থেকে ৩৫ হয়ে গেছে।ওয়েট প্রায় ১০ কেজি বেড়েছে।

        এখন যেখানে ব্যায়াম করি সেই জিম আমার খুব একটা পছন্দ না।কিন্তু কিছু করার নাই।এর থেকে ভাল জিম এলাকায় নাই।আবার ভাল জিম পেলে অনেক দুর হয়ে যায় ও খরচ বেশী যা আমার পক্ষে সম্ভব না।
        আমি সাম্প্রতিক গ্রাজুয়েট ।এখনো রেজাল্ট হয়নি।
        এখন সময় আছে তাই নিয়মিত ব্যায়াম করছি। বেলি নিয়া কিছু সাজেশন দেন।

      • ইনজুরি থাকলে তো আপনাকে সাবধান থাকতেই হবে. ইনজুরি ঠিক হলে ব্যায়াম করেন | তবে খাওয়া দাওয়া টা একটু যদি নিয়ম মেনে খান, তবে ওজন বাড়ে না | আমার সাম্প্রতিক একটা পোস্ট আছে পেট কমানোর, ঐখানে পুরা সাজেশন আছে | আসলে আমাদের দেশে ভালো জীম তেমন নেই | তাই নিজে নিজে ই ব্যায়াম করা ছাড়া উপায় নেই |
        যাই হোক, নিয়মিত ব্যায়াম করুন, আর সুস্থ্য থাকুন |

  22. Dentists are vulnerable to back pain. is there any specific exercise which can reduce the risk of back pain in dentists?

    • Thank you Doctor, for your extraordinary question and visiting my blog. Yes, Dentists are highly vulnerable to back pain because of their poor posture. I have also noticed this while you work in your chamber. Dentists have to lean forward for a long period of time when they work. This causes stress in their spine, results back pain.
      Stretching and strengthening the back properly by some stretching exercises can reduce the risk of back pain.

      Click here(http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/back-pain/LB00001_D) to learn some exercises to stretch your back to prevent back pain. But always warm up before stretching exercises. Warm up like: walking, marching on the spot 5 to 10 minutes at least is enough. Otherwise, it may causes injuries in to your back. Remember to cool down your body also. Wearing shoe is must for cardio exercises.
      Another excellent type of exercise I will suggest you to keep away back pain is Yoga. Yoga not only reduces the risk of back pain but also heals your body (other problems of your body) and mind.       I believe that if a person has no problem in his body, doing regular exercise will stop all kinds of problem (including back pain) to take place. Exercises like: Walking, jogging, aerobics, cycling (or stationary bike), cross training, swimming (excellent back and whole body stretching) are also beneficial to maintain good health and to prevent back pain.
      [N.B: I think every person must consult with a doctor or a good gym trainer if he/she has any problem or pain in his/her body before starting exercise. Not all kinds of exercises are suitable for every person.]

    • I think you are suffering from Postural Pain. That is not only the problem of only Dentists, now a days it is becoming the main cause of Occupation related pain.

      To prevent postural pain, you need to maintain a good posture of your back while sitting. That is, you need to maintain the lumber curvature as it is normal. Don’t sit in slouch posture. To prevent bad sitting posture, you can use lumber roll with your chair and it is very cheap at Bangladesh.

      You can maintain back strengthening exercises to keep fit. But if you have pain, before doing any exercise, please consult with a Good Qualified Physiotherapist.

      • Thank you very much Dr. Osman. i dont have back pain now, but when i have to work for long time, i feel some discomfort. A number of colleagues already have back pain. i want to take some steps to prevent that.
